Dr Brian Harris is a sought after speaker, teacher, leader and writer.  A widely respected theologian, after 17 years as principal of Vose Seminary, he recently became the founding director of the AVENIR Leadership Institute, an initiative of the Carey Group committed to fostering leaders who will make a positive impact on the world. While leading the Institute, Brian continues to do some part time teaching at the Vose Campus of Morling College, is a Director of the Australian College of Theology and a Distinguished International Visiting Scholar of Spurgeon’s College, London. Brian is married to Rosemary and they recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They have 3 adult married children, and their two grandchildren (there is a third on the way), help to keep them nimble.

PAUL GOTTHARDT I’m a Southern guy who’s found a home on the West Coast. I grew up in Savannah, Georgia where I met my wife, Brea, in the college and career class of our church. We’ve been married since 1996 and we’re blessed with two incredible daughters (Shana and Kaylee).

God allowed me to continue my education over the years by receiving a B.A. in world religion from the University of Georgia (1998), a M.DIV in biblical languages from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (2003), and a PhD in Christian Counselling from Adonai University (2009).

In early 2003, God called our family to Las Vegas to start Life Baptist Church. We arrived in Vegas in August of 2003. Less than a month later, we held our first prayer meeting with one other couple at the dining room table. After 14 months of prayerful preparation, Life Baptist Church officially launched on October 3, 2004.

Since that time, God has grown Life into a vibrant community of more than 1,700 people. We’ve been blessed to be a part of planting 13 churches, starting a satellite campus, mentoring church planters, writing Gospel-centered resources that have been translated into 11 languages, and joining in God’s Kingdom activity around the world.

My passion in ministry is learning, writing, and equipping people in the wonders of the Christ-life.

ROSS CLIFFORD is the Principal of Australia's largest Seminary, Morling (NSW Baptist Theological and Bible College). 

He grew up in Chatswood in Sydney and was converted to follow Christ at the 1959 Billy Graham Crusade at 8 years of age. He was raised in a Christian home, and his family worshipped at the Burton Street Baptist Church in the city.

Ross has always been interested in the Law and its relationship to justice. He wondered where Jesus might do Law. He reasoned that, although lawyers are needed in the CBD, he thought Jesus might have practised in Kings Cross with the underprivileged and the colourful characters in life, where people struggle.

Ross could see Jesus defending the defenceless and helping those who are the most vulnerable and weakest in society. He graduated from University in Law, eventually becoming a barrister practising in Kings Cross and later at Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory.

When Ross became a Baptist Minister, he served Gymea Baptist Church in southern Sydney and is now Principal of Morling. Since he moved into Morling, a whole new fresh approach to theological learning has been introduced. Ross Clifford refers to this as sending "God's Word into God's world."

ADAM TYSON was born and raised in a Christian home in Georgia.

After attending medical school, he became a physician's assistant and worked in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery in Savannah for four years.

While serving in his local church, he felt an overwhelming desire to pursue the glory of God through theological training and the opportunity to serve the Lord in full-time ministry. Adam had the privilege of attending The Master's Seminary for both an M.Div. (2005) and D.Min. (2013).

He then served for many years as an associate pastor of student ministries and outreach in Texas. Adam currently serves as the senior pastor at Placerita Bible Church located just north of Los Angeles and adjacent to The Master’s University (TMU). Adam teaches biblical counselling as an adjunct professor at TMU in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. He has a passion for expository preaching, biblical counselling, world-wide missions, and reaching the community of Santa Clarita with the gospel!

Adam and his lovely wife, Lisa, were married in 2004, and they have been blessed with five children: Anna, Nate, Micaiah, Hudson, and Zoe.

Dr MARK HARWOOD completed his tertiary education at the University of Sydney where he received B.Sc., B.E. (Hons) and Ph.D. degrees.  

His postgraduate studies were focused on radio telescopes and computer techniques for antenna design and measurement.

Mark played a key role in the development of Australia’s national satellite system.

He has now retired from the aerospace industry where he was General Manager, Strategy and Planning for the Optus satellite business.

During his university years, Mark was something of a ‘closet Christian’ because he could not understand the basis of his faith.

He assumed that God must have created through the processes of evolution but that idea provided no meaningful basis for Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross. But when he was confronted on the historical truth of the creation account in Genesis, he realised that those opening chapters were actually true.

Then God’s plan of redemption finally made sense.

He speaks passionately, both in Australia and internationally, about the scientific credibility and the Gospel relevance of the Genesis account of creation.
