Have you ever considered the promise that God made - first to Abraham, then to Isaac and finally to Jacob:
To Abraham - "...and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice." Genesis 22:18
To Isaac - "...and in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws." Genesis 26:4-5
To Jacob - "... and in you and your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed." Genesis 28:14
The word for 'offspring' in these verses is singular and refers to Jesus. All nations are blessed through Him!
And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "In you shall all the nations be blessed." Galatians 3:8
Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, "And to offsprings," referring to many, but referring to one, "And to your offspring," who is Christ. Galatians 3:16
Praise God for His Son, Jesus Christ. He loves us so much that he suffered and died on the cross in our place.
He rose again on the third day and is seated at God's right hand.
Just like Jacob, we are strugglers, schemers, wrestlers and sufferers.
Just like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - we look to Jesus for our hope and salvation.
Through Him, we are saved from the penalty of our sin
and through Him, we have the hope of life with Him for eternity in heaven.
